I also built it for MacOSX, to run locally on my macbook.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/code.google.com\/p\/einstein\/wiki\/BuildInstructions\">published directions are here<\/a>, and you should read them first and familiarize yourself with them.<\/p>\n<h3> Install MacPorts<br \/>\n<\/h3>\n<p>* <a href=\"http:\/\/svn.macosforge.org\/repository\/macports\/downloads\/MacPorts-1.5.0\/MacPorts-1.5.0-10.4.dmg\">MacPorts-1.5.0-10.4.dmg<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Open a terminal and then use macports to install the following packages:<\/p>\n<pre>\n$ sudo port install gettext\n$ sudo port installlibffi\n$ sudo port install jam\n$ sudo port install arm-none-linux-gnueabi-gcc\n<\/pre>\n<p>Then you must add <\/p>\n<pre>\/opt\/local\/bin<\/pre>\n<p> to your $PATH on the Mac (edit .bash_login in your home directory), then restart your terminal or read in the new bash_profile.<\/p>\n<h3>Pull down Klibs and Build<\/h3>\n<p>K is located at SourceForge (<a href=\"http:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/KLibs\/\">http:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/KLibs\/<\/a>)<\/p>\n<pre>\n$ cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@klibs.cvs.sourceforge.net:\/cvsroot\/klibs login \n[Enter] for password\n\n$ cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@klibs.cvs.sourceforge.net:\/cvsroot\/klibs co -P K\n\n$ cd $PATH_TO_KLibs\/_Build_\/Jam\n\n$ jam -starget=nokia2006\n\n<\/pre>\n<p>Klibs should build with out problems. If you want to build for the Mac, just leave off the -starget parameter.<\/p>\n<h3>Pull down Open Einstein and Build<\/h3>\n<pre>\n$ svn checkout http:\/\/einstein.googlecode.com\/svn\/trunk\/ einstein\n\n$ cd einstein\/Einstein\/_Build_\/Jam\n\n$ jam -sK=$PATH_TO_KLibs -starget=nokia2006 -sjittarget=GENERIC\n<\/pre>\n<p>Now there is a new folder in the \/_Build_\/Jam directory called build.ARM-LINUX-Nokia2006. This folder will contain the einstein binary for the Nokia 770.<\/p>\n<h3>Move files over to 770<\/h3>\n<p>You need three files:<\/p>\n<li> einstein &#8211; the ARM binary of einstein.<\/li>\n<li> Einstein.rex &#8211; the ROM extension for einstein (it has the NewTest app to test your emulation speed).<\/li>\n<li> ROM file &#8211; the actual ROM file from a newton. Read the <a href=\"http:\/\/einstein.googlecode.com\/files\/UserManual.pdf\">Open Einstein Manual<\/a> on how to create one using your existing Newton and a Tcp\/Ip connection.<\/li>\n<p>[You should <a href=\"http:\/\/tabletblog.com\/2005\/12\/step-by-step-sshd-on-nokia-770.html\">set up sshd on 770<\/a>, change password of &#8216;user&#8217; to something you know, change the ip address below to match your 770 local ip. Use ifconfig -a to check the local 770 ip.]<\/p>\n<p>Now copy the files:<\/p>\n<pre>\n$ scp $PATH_TO_EINSTEIN\/_Build_\/Jam\/build.ARM-LINUX-Nokia2006\/einstein user@192.168.155.155:\n$ scp $PATH_TO_EINSTEIN\/_Data_\/Einstein.rex user@192.168.155.155:\n$ scp $NEWTON_ROM user@192.168.155.155:\n<\/pre>\n<p>Once they are copied over, you can start Open Einstein like this:<\/p>\n<pre>\n\/home\/user # .\/einstein -l log2 -m 737041 .\nWelcome to Einstein console.\nThis is Einstein Platform 2007.\nCreating image...\nMax units count = 986\nMax units count = 1026\nBooting...\nType help for help on available commands.\neinstein> power\n<\/pre>\n<p>And you should see the Newton Start up on your device.
