A lot happened.

I had a few blogs before WordPress but nothing has compared to it. It’s an amazing piece of software that has transformed a lot of what we are able to read about on the Web. SyncingApple was created on WordPress.

Back Up – Way Back

The above blurb is what I thought, based just on the records I have from the WP blog that has been hosted on my DreamHost account. However after posting the above I began to wonder about my earlier web history and the Way-Back Machine gave me some more interesting pages to view. These go much further back in time and show the very beginning of the Blog back when it was used before WordPress.

First a history of the Domain, dillernet.com which was the first domain I registered:

 Registry Domain ID: 2619207_DOMAIN_COM-VRSN
 Registrar WHOIS Server: whois.dreamhost.com
 Registrar URL: http://www.DreamHost.com
 Updated Date: 2017-10-10T07:05:52Z
 Creation Date: 1996-10-10T04:00:00Z

That info is from whois, and now shows that DH has been managing it for a while for me. However you can see that original date back in 1996 which was pretty early. I don’t think I had to pay for the registration back then.

First Record of SyncingApple

This shows the first incarnation of the blog, using Moveable Type from 2003.

First Record of Dillernet.com

Going back even further my first instance of any website on dillernet.com was around 1997. You can see I was interested in Tesseracts for some reason.

So there you have a quick summary of my dabbling in the web from it’s very beginnings back in 1996. I will update this page as I dig up further interesting pieces of history either on systems or via recall.

The first post to my Syncing Apple blog was 14 years ago.
