Now that my Mac is back I wanted to address another issue- lack of USB 3.1 and also general lack of USB. I’ve found that i’m using most of the available USB ports (many for multiple serial interfaces I use to connect to my SGI consoles). I also have a external drive that is USB 3, as are most devices now days. Getting USB 3.1 is pretty simple- just get the Sonnet Card. They have Both Type A USB 3.0 and the new Type C USB 3.1 cards. They are available on Amazon and Ebay.

There’s room in the MacPro for both types of cards if you need them.

Once it’s installed it pops right up and is available for use in 10.14.
